Bridgewater College seeks an Assistant Professor of Communication: Public Relations/Media, for a full time tenure-track position beginning in August 2009. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate for this position will teach 8 courses per year (divided between fall, January term, and spring).  Course load will be some combination of the following based on candidate experience:  Public Relations, News and Media Writing, Communication Law, Nonprofit Media, Communication in the Organization, Mass Media and Society.

QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in Communication or related field (ABD considered).   A demonstrated excellence in teaching and a commitment to the liberal arts. Successful experience teaching the basic speech course. Willingness to perform academic advising and serve on college-wide committees, and a commitment to involvement in extracurricular programs and the campus community.   The ideal candidate will be flexible, enthusiastic, and understand the importance of faculty- student interaction outside the classroom.
